Ø The
department of Technical Education has conducted
counseling for more then 50000 candidates for admission
to degree/diploma level courses in Govt./Private
engineering and pharmacy as well as Craftsman
certificate courses in it is during the current session.
Ø Tuition
Fee Waiver Scheme as per AICTE guidelines has been
implemented in Govt. Engineering/Pharmacy College and
Polytechnics.
Ø The
Govt. has conveyed the approval for establishment of
Himachal Pradesh Technical University at Hamirpur from
the current academic session 2010-11 alongwith filling
up of 25 posts of different categories.
Ø Two
new B.Tech Courses in Electronics & Communication
Engineering and Civil Engineering with an intake of 60
students in each course has been started from the
current academic session i.e. 2010-11. Besides, intake
capacity of existing B.Tech. Courses of Mechanical
Engineering and Textile Engineering has been increased
from 40 to 60 students from the current academic
session. 10 new posts has been created in Govt. Engg.
College Sundernagar for starting these courses.
Ø An
Institute of Engineering & Technology, Shimla at
Pragatinagar is to be established in collaboration with
SJVNL.
Ø
An Engineering college on aspects related
to Hydro Power is to be established at Bandla in
District Bilaspur in collaboration with NHPC and NTPC.
Ø
Notification for opening of 4 new ITIs
at Tikkar in district Shimla, Sandhole and Bhadrota in
district Mandi and Ghumawin in District Bilaspur has
been issued alogn with 63 posts of different categories
by the Govt. Two ITIs namely Tikkar in district Shimla
and Bhadrota in district Mandi will start functioning
from the current academic session, whereas remaining two
ITIs at Ghumarwin and Sandhole will become operational
in phased manner.
Ø
05 new Polytechnic will be opened in
phased manner within two years in the left out districts
of Sirmour, Bilaspur, Kullu, Kinnaur and Lahul & Spiti.
Ø
Sanction for filling
up of 187 vacant posts has been received from the Govt.
Requisition for filling up of these posts have been
sent to the Govt. as well HPSSB Hamirpur.
Ø The
services of 17 Instructors, who have completed eight
years service on contract basis as on 31st March,2010
have been regularized. The cases for regularization of 5
Class-I Lecturers working on contract basis in the
polytechnics have been sent to the Govt. for necessary
regularization.
Ø In
all 2830 students out of 3740 appeared in campus
interviews at degree/diploma and certificate level
courses were placed during the year 2009-2010.
Ø
Against the Administrative approval of Rs.
37.15 Crore, a sum of Rs. 23.31 Crore has been deposited
with the HPPWD for construction of JN Govt. Engineering
College Sundernagar. Besides budget of Rs. 9.50 Crore
has been provided during the current financial year.
Three multistoried Blocks which are under construction
will be completed and likely to be inaugurated during
the current financial year.
Ø Technical
Education Quality Improvement Programme(TEQIP-II),
State Eligibility Proposal has been approved by the
World Bank and Jawahar Lal Nehru, Govt. Engineering
College Sundernagar has been allowed to participate in
the said programme for which Rs. 10.00 Crore will be
released after the approval of Institutional Eligibility
Proposal.
Ø Central
Grant of Rs. 1.00 Crore per polytechnic has been
sanctioned for the construction of Girls Hostel at
Sundernagar, Hamirpur, Ambota, Chamba, Banikhet and
Talwar for which 1st installment of Rs. 20.00 Lac per
polytechnic has been released by GOI.
Ø The
GOI has granted its approval in principle to provide Rs.
2.00 Crore for up-gradation of each existing
Polytechnic. The 1st installment Rs. 10.00 Lac each for
Govt. Poly. Kangra and Banikheth has been released.
Ø
All the Govt. Polytechnics have been covered under
Community Development Through Polytechnic(CDTP), out of
which 6 polytechnics namely Sundernagar, Hamirpur,
Kandaghat, Rohroo, Ambota and Kangra have received 1st
installment of Central grant of Rs. 10.25 Lacs per
polytechnic.
Ø Rs.
36.10 Crore has been sanctioned under Centre of
Excellence (COE) Scheme in existing 14 Govt. ITIs in the
State, out of which Rs. 23.75 Crore, has been received
from GOI.
Ø Rs.
75.00 Crore has been sanctioned and released to 30
existing ITIs under Public Private Partnership (PPP)
Mode.
Ø Rs.
2.33 Crore has been sanctioned and released to 39 ITIs
of the State under Modular Employable Skill Programme.
Ø Administrative
approval amounting to Rs. 97.26 Crore has been accorded
for construction of new institutional/hostel buildings
during the years 2008-09 & 2009-10.
Ø The
budget outlay of the department both for Plan and
Non-plan was Rs. 3899.83 lac during the year 2006-07,
which has been increased to Rs. 8299.70 lac during the
year 2010-11. Thus there is a remarkable increase of
more than 110% in the budget outlay. |
